Kennedy Activities Fundraiser

Monday, December 14th from 5:00-8:00PM, dine at the Pizza Ranch in Waite Park. Kennedy activities will receive 25% of each purchase made that day but you need to present this coupon at the register: http://isd742.org/~kennedy/news/Pizza%20Ranch.pdf
The Pizza Ranch buffet features, pizza, chicken, potatoes, salad bar, desert bar and beverages.

Pennies for Peace

Kennedy Community School will be participating in a Pennies for Peace campaign from November 30th through December 11th. This penny drive helps build schools for children in remote regions of Afghanistan and Pakistan. The opportunity for an education gives these children a chance to break the cycle of poverty, terrorism and war. We hope that this penny drive will help empower our students as humanitarians, broaden their view of the world and promote peace. For more information go to here

Reflections Program to Begin

2009-2010 Theme: "Beauty is..."

Students will be bringing home information on Nov 25 regarding how they can participate.
The deadline for entries is 1/6/10.
Presentation of all entries and awards will be prior to the PTA meeting on 1/21/10.

What is the Reflections Program?: "Students in preschool through grade 12 are encouraged to create and submit works of art in six areas: dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography, and the visual arts (which includes art forms such as drawing, painting, print making, and collage). "

Special Honor for Mr. Beneke

On Oct 21, 2009, Kennedy Community School's Kevin Beneke was presented with a Leadership in Educational Excellence Award. This award recognizes the outstanding contribution to education by its recipients.

Congratulations Mr. Beneke!

Fundraiser Pick-Up Reminder

Product pick-up for the fall fundraiser is this Wednesday, Nov. 18 from 4:00PM-6:30PM).
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the fundraiser!

Buy A Hat!

The Activities Club is selling Kennedy fleece hats for $5 each or two for $8.
The hats are available in the office.

Photos Needed!

The Yearbook Committee is requesting photos for the upcoming Yearbooks. Yearbooks are PreK-Grade 5 and Grade 6-8. The committee would like to see pics from sporting events, academic events, field trips, everyday Kennedy Community life, etc.

Please submit att: Tamara Huesers to Patti in the office. If possible submissions should be placed on a CD, SD card, flash drive, or actual pics that can be scanned. Items can be returned if labeled with students name and teacher.

Used Book Fair

At our last meeting, we discussed a possible Used Book Fair for this spring. Kennedy community members would donate books which would then be sold. All profit would go to our PTA. At the bottom of this page is a survey which will allow us to gauge interest in the Used Book Fair - please take a moment to "vote".

Please remember to keep saving the following items - they provide PTA funding or athletic supplies:

• Food Club UPC codes
• Campbell's Soup (and other products) UPC codes
• Cub Foods receipts
• Box Tops for Education

Ask your friends and relatives to collect these items too!

"Label Night" is tonight!

Tonight beginning at 5:30PM in the Media Center Reading Room, we'll be processing all our Kemp's caps, Campbell's labels, Food Club UPC's, etc. Adult and student help is needed and appreciated. Pizza will be provided.

Volunteers Needed!

Volunteers are needed to process orders from our fall fundraiser. Your assistance is needed on Wednesday, October 28 from 3:30PM to 5:30PM at the school.

Fall Fundraiser is Coming!

Next week we kick-off our biggest fundraising event of the school year. We have again teamed with the Chip Shoppe for our fall fundraiser, an event that provides us the largest part of our funding.

The important dates to remember are:
Tuesday, Oct. 13 - Kick-off
Tuesday, Oct. 27 - orders are due
Wednesday, Nov. 18 (4:00-6:30PM) - product pick-up
